Overview


Experienced Human Resources professional to establish and lead HR operations for a growing organization in the advanced manufacturing sector. This role involves building the HR function from the ground up—overseeing payroll, benefits, compliance, and recruiting, while shaping workplace culture. It is ideal for a hands-on leader who balances strategic planning with daily execution in a high-growth startup environment.


Responsibilities



  • Build and lead the Human Resources function from scratch, establishing all core operations and infrastructure.

  • Design and implement a full-cycle recruitment process to attract top-tier talent in partnership with internal stakeholders and external recruiters.

  • Develop and execute employee engagement programs, company events, and activities that foster a strong workplace culture.

  • Draft and maintain HR policies and procedures that are compliant with employment laws and aligned with company values.

  • Manage payroll, benefits administration, leave tracking, and compliance training, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Act as a strategic HR advisor to management on matters including performance management, disciplinary action, workforce planning, and talent development.

  • Collaborate with finance to align labor cost planning and budgeting with organizational goals.

  • Partner with the Quality team to roll out employee training programs and maintain relevant documentation.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources or General Office Administration, preferably in a startup or small team environment.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and Texas employment laws and compliance requirements.

  • Proven HR experience in a manufacturing or technical environment with diverse employee groups (hourly, engineering, etc.).

  • Proficiency in payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance-related training.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support leadership in HR strategy and problem-solving.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Hands-on experience developing HR policies, rolling out HRIS/ATS platforms, and implementing 401(k) plans.

  • Prior experience using Paychex for payroll and benefits administration.

  • HR certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts, and reporting).
