Job Title: Barista
Location: Jiayoungocafe
Reports To: Café Manager / Supervisor
Job Summary: The Barista is responsible for preparing high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages while delivering excellent customer service. This role helps create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects Jiayoungocafe’s standards and ensures customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, smoothies, and other café beverages according to recipes and standards.
- Operate espresso machines, blenders, grinders, and other café equipment safely.
- Take and process customer orders in coordination with the cashier.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including the coffee bar and preparation areas.
- Restock ingredients, supplies, and display items as needed.
- Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation of all drinks served.
- Provide friendly, attentive service and respond to customer inquiries.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Support other café operations when necessary (packaging, serving light food items, cleaning tables).
- Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent; vocational training in food & beverage is a plus.
- Previous experience as a barista or in a café/restaurant setting preferred (but not required; training provided).
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and café equipment is an advantage.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, team player, and passionate about coffee and customer satisfaction.
Work Conditions
- Flexible schedule; must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
