Position Overview
The Barista at Edgewood Tahoe Resort will have a deep appreciation for specialty coffee, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to outstanding customer service. The Barista ensures all beverages are prepared, presented, and served according to the resort's standards, and is dedicated to delivering an exceptional coffee experience.
Responsibilities
- Expertly prepare and serve a variety of espresso-based drinks, and other specialty beverages following precise recipes and techniques.
- Maintain consistency in coffee quality, taste, and presentation.
- Provide an elevated, welcoming experience for guests, guiding them through the menu and offering personalized recommendations.
- Educate customers about coffee beans, flavor profiles, and brewing methods.
- Maintain a polished and professional demeanor, ensuring a warm and inviting atmosphere.
- Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and monitoring ingredient freshness.
- Operate, clean, and maintain all coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewers.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and seating areas, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and business.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous experience as a barista in a specialty or high-end coffee shop is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk texturing, and manual brewing methods.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for coffee, hospitality, and continuous learning.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to safely lift, move, and stack items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
