Job Title: Barista

Job Summary:

The Barista/Coffee Shop Attendant is responsible for greeting guests, taking food orders, and light food preparation. They will also prepare beverages and assist guests with retail items. The role requires compliance with policies, procedures, brand standards, and regulations. Processing guest checks and payments accurately is essential. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, outgoing, and passionate about exceeding guest expectations, with knowledge of food and beverage operations.

Essential Functions

  • Report emergencies, accidents, injuries, and hazards promptly.
  • Report deviations from policies and standards to management.
  • Follow all guest service basics, including uniforms and greeting protocols.

  • Provide quality, timely service in a friendly manner.

Fundamental Requirements:

  • Ability to prepare and serve customized coffee beverages.
  • Provide friendly guest service and explain specials or promotions.
  • Understand and adhere to all alcohol serving laws and guidelines.
  • Pay attention to detail and manage time efficiently.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and willingness to exceed expectations.
  • Maintain professionalism, effective communication, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a coffee shop barista is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hospitality practices preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Work is performed mainly indoors. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. May operate a vehicle if needed. Visual acuity is required.
