Crescent Hotels & Resorts is honored to announce an exciting opportunity for a talented Barista for the grand opening of JW Marriott Reston Station Residences this Fall. Join the opening team of the first JW Marriott in Virginia and contribute to a new level of luxury within the property.

What you will be doing

• Prepare and Serve Beverages
  • Accurately prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other specialty beverages according to standardized recipes and customer preferences.
  • Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
• Customer Service
  • Greet guests warmly and provide prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service.
  • Engage with customers to take orders, answer questions, and offer recommendations.
• Maintain Cleanliness and Sanitation
  • Keep the work area, equipment, and customer seating areas clean and organized.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of food and beverages.
• Cash Handling and POS
  • Accurately operate the POS system to process payments, handle cash, and issue receipts.
  • Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, if applicable.
• Stocking and Inventory
  • Replenish supplies such as coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, napkins, and other café essentials.
  • Assist with inventory counts and notify management of low stock or supply needs.
• Product Knowledge
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all menu items, seasonal offerings, and preparation techniques.
  • Stay up to date with promotions and new items.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Must have the ability to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Ability to meet standards of appearance and communicate well with guests.
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
• Willingness to pitch in and help coworkers as a team player.
