$15.00 - $18.39 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to sell coffee and gelato items by providing remarkable customer service. This role includes maintaining quality standards and product levels at the café, preparing coffee and espresso drinks, serving and sampling gelato, serving baked goods, receiving and stocking products, and delivering exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures.
2. Ensure the quality and freshness of all products and services provided by the café.
3. Maintain appropriate product assortment and inventory levels.
4. Confirm pricing accuracy and signage, especially for promotional items.
5. Clean and sanitize the café area daily to meet company standards.
6. Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
7. Prepare coffee and espresso drinks.
8. Sample and serve gelato.
9. Receive and stock products.
10. Operate cash register for sales transactions.
11. Assist in the overall success of the bakery as needed.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:

• Interact daily with store associates.
• Interact daily with customers.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with one year of barista experience or equivalent training and skills, including:

• Enjoy working with coffee and gelato items.
• Passion for preparing and consuming coffee and gelato.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions.
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
• Ability to accept feedback and be accountable.
• Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and team-oriented.
• Customer-focused, detail-oriented, proactive, and consistent.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

The role involves working in a safe, comfortable environment with exposure to temperature variations and physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motions.
