Responsibilities
- Meetings: Daily Operation & Monthly Department
- Selling coffee, accessories, and supplies; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with café foods
- Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs
- Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions
- Sells coffees by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates
- Prepares and serves coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and techniques (espresso, espresso lungo, caffe latte, cappuccino, match teas, iced teas)
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; communicating to cooks/chefs on café food needs
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; reporting repairs to management
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
- Improves quality results by evaluating and maintaining the appearance of the store and coffee bar
- Enhances coffee shop reputation by taking ownership of new and evolving offerings
- Ensures all necessary supplies are available to execute service
- Creates professional working relationships amongst colleagues
- Labels, wraps, or dates food products for sale
- Prepares food items for service as needed
- Receives customer orders and conveys them to other team members
- Maintains prompt and friendly customer service; addresses customer questions and concerns
- Reports potential safety hazards to the manager on duty
- Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors/Managers
Qualifications
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to work in a safe, prudent and organized manner
- Serve Safe certification is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods; occasional lifting of up to 40 lb
