Responsibilities

• Meetings: Daily Operation & Monthly Department
• Selling coffee, accessories, and supplies; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with café foods
• Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs
• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions
• Sells coffees by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates
• Prepares and serves coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and techniques (espresso, espresso lungo, caffe latte, cappuccino, match teas, iced teas)
• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; communicating to cooks/chefs on café food needs
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; reporting repairs to management
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
• Improves quality results by evaluating and maintaining the appearance of the store and coffee bar
• Enhances coffee shop reputation by taking ownership of new and evolving offerings
• Ensures all necessary supplies are available to execute service
• Creates professional working relationships amongst colleagues
• Labels, wraps, or dates food products for sale
• Prepares food items for service as needed
• Receives customer orders and conveys them to other team members
• Maintains prompt and friendly customer service; addresses customer questions and concerns
• Reports potential safety hazards to the manager on duty
• Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors/Managers

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to work in a safe, prudent and organized manner
• Serve Safe certification is a plus
• Ability to stand for extended periods; occasional lifting of up to 40 lb
