Position Purpose:
This position contributes to Charis Bible College by providing excellent customer service to all customers with food and beverages. This job provides customers with prompt service, quality beverages, and products, and maintains a clean and comfortable store environment. Hours and schedules will vary by the conference and event schedules.
Essential Duties:
- Expertly prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, following established recipes and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Be knowledgeable about the menu, including seasonal and specialty items, and be able to make recommendations to customers.
- Accurately take and process customer orders, ensuring all orders are correct and meet customer expectations.
- Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment accurately and responsibly, following all cash-handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including cleaning equipment, counters, and seating areas, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and restock inventory as needed, including coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies, ensuring everything is available for smooth operation.
- Assist with catering and beverage services for events held at the college, providing high-quality service to event attendees.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, including kitchen and event staff, to ensure seamless service and operations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and stay current with industry trends and college policies.
- Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and mission of Charis Bible College.
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the Kiosk running to standard and to set a positive example for the team.
- Prepares food for purchase as directed, such as cutting and packing food for sale.
- Assists Charis Kitchen during high volume of meal plan activities.
- Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of food/beverage and retail environment and food safety and hygiene standards.
- Able to keep a calm, patient, and friendly demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events.
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills and basic math skills, with the ability to count change back.
- Able to stand on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to build relationships.
- Must be able to work with a POS system.
- Must be able to operate Windows-based computers.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

- Must be able to lift/and or move up to 30+ lbs.
Requirements:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Must sign the Statement of Faith.
- A high school diploma or equivalent education is needed.
- Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.
- A clean and modest appearance is needed.
- Must pass all required checks.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year customer service and/or cash handling experience is preferred.
- Previous food handling or barista experience is preferred.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience.
