Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit. Responsibilities

  • Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products within the department and store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions with suggestions.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
  • Prepare beverage selections to recipes and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; handle transactions following company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items; inform customers of coffee shop specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to ensure customers get what they want and need.
  • Use coffee shop equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines; prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
  • Properly use kitchen equipment including espresso machine, blender, computerized scale and steamer.
  • Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions; notify store management; adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate management of repairs.
  • Notify management of accidents; report all safety risks, issues or illegal activity including robbery, theft or fraud.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
