TITLE: Business Analyst (100% Remote)

LOCATION:HQ(Remote)

FLSA: Exempt

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:

Less than 10% to fulfill job requirements

HOURS and SCHEDULE:

GenerallyMonday Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (minimum 37.5 hourswithin five (5) days per week); unless otherwise requiredor approved by management.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT:

Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment

LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION:

Business Analysis and/or Agile certifications are highly desirable

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Business Analyst role is primarily a project-based role focused on business process/efficiency improvements as it pertains to software development and processes across NCMEC. The Analyst will elicit, document, and analyze and implement data-driven processes aimed at resolving business and operational challenges. Additionally, the Business Analyst will ensure alignment of their projects and requirements to business and technical strategy and architecture. Perform system analyses on software programs, applications, and web services. This individual coordinates people and processes to ensure customer satisfaction, and that projects are orchestrated in a consistent manner with NCMECs mission, commitments and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage project deliverables such as process analysis, root cause analysis, problem identification, requirements gathering, benchmarking, user story development and solution implementation
  • Proven experience working in Agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe
  • Can leverage business process modelling, using techniques such as, Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN), Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs), Role Activity Diagrams (RADs), Event-Driven Process Chain (EPC)
  • Demonstrate experience eliciting requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business and technical process reviews, and task and workflow analysis
  • Lead and plan the definition, analysis, validation, and maintenance of functional requirements by working in close liaison with customers and other divisions and in line with evolving business requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and product owners to identify process improvement through automation and redesign of existing systems or implementation of functional capabilities
  • Understand and articulate the business process, problem definition and opportunity by documenting business requirements, process maps, use cases, user stories, and functional and non-functional requirements
  • Facilitate discovery sessions with customers to elicit requirements, create business process models, workflows, etc.
  • Conduct user research, identify features and epics, draft user stories and meet with users to validate and enhance them
  • Works effectively and individually with Technical and Non-Technical team members and customers
  • Learn and apply deep functional and non-functional understanding of NCMECs software systems and technical architecture
  • Analyze and de-conflict requirements, data, and information from multiple data sources and decompose into detailed requirements
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designer to create wireframes, mock-ups, and user stories during the usability testing sessions and add/update stories based on user feedback

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field
  • Minimum of 5years of relevant work experience
  • In-depth understanding of Business Process Modeling
  • Business Analysis and/or Agile certifications are highly desirable

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as solid knowledge of both Agile and traditional project and business environments
  • Proven experience in experience in a technical Business Analyst/ Business Process Analyst role
  • Experience with modeling tools such as Visio and requirements management tools such as Jira and Confluence is a plus
  • Experience driving continuous improvement; challenge the status quo and proactively identify gaps and opportunities
  • Ability to handle and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive material and information
  • Disciplined and structured self-starter not requiring significant supervision
  • Have the ability to work well in a team collaborating with developers, customers, project managers, product owners, and quality test analysts
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence
