Business Analyst – SharePoint Modernization

Purpose of Position
The Business Analyst (BA) acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring business needs are defined, documented, and translated into technical solutions. This role will support enterprise projects, with a primary focus on a SharePoint Modernization initiative and upcoming ERP activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Develop process maps and perform process analysis to identify gaps and opportunities.

  • Support RFP development for the ERP project by defining and documenting requirements.

  • Partner with stakeholders and IT teams to refine requirements and participate in discovery, prioritization, and estimation sessions.

  • Facilitate refinement meetings, QA/UAT coordination, and CAB change management processes.

  • Inventory and categorize applications, data, sites, and subsites from on-prem SharePoint 2016 farms.

  • Determine disposition of applications/data to SharePoint Online (M365) or SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) based on compatibility.

  • Produce clear process documentation and act as a POC for SharePoint migrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (CBAP certification preferred).

  • 3+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst on medium to large software development projects.

  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation, and process mapping.

  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, SQL; familiarity with TFS/Azure DevOps preferred.

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence and build partnerships across teams.

  • Prior experience supporting SharePoint migrations or modernization initiatives strongly preferred.
