Agility Partners is hiring: Business Analyst in Columbus

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our team that builds and maintains our customer-facing reporting portal. This role collaborates with the Product Owner in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the technology team, ensuring that enhancements are aligned with strategic goals and user needs. Additionally, the Business Analyst is a problem-solver, working on specific projects and developing expertise to support the broader team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator, a collaborative partner, and a curious learner eager to develop deep expertise in our data landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements for enhancements to the customer reporting portal.
• Facilitate requirement-gathering workshops, interviews, and review sessions.
• Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for the technology team.
• Note: The Product Owner has primary responsibility for all of the above and will both collaborate with this role and provide guidance as needed.
• Partner closely with the Product Owner to write user stories, define acceptance criteria, and manage backlogs within an Agile development environment.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation that includes business rules, technical requirements, workflows, and use cases.
• Serve as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring mutual understanding of project goals and technical constraints.
• Develop a foundational understanding of company-specific data types, structures, and flows.
• Over time, develop strong understanding of the data architecture supporting the reporting portal.
• Support data engineers and analysts in the design and development of new data models and structures. Ask questions and ensure dependencies are being considered.

Qualifications:

(Required)

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field OR equivalent professional experience in a business analyst or related role.
• 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst role, preferably in a technology or data-driven environment.
• Demonstrated ability to write detailed and accurate user stories and technical documentation.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality results.

(Preferred)

• Experience working with customer-facing portals or SaaS applications.
• Background in data analysis, data modeling, or working closely with data engineering teams.
• Familiarity with SQL or data visualization tools is a plus.
