POSITION: Business Analyst
LOCATION: Chicago, IL
REPORTS TO: EVP, Strategy & Infrastructure
JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Analyst will support the company’s strategic and commercial efforts through a combination of research and data analysis. This role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information from internal and external sources to deliver clear, actionable insights that inform executive-level decisions.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and research capabilities, proficiency working with ERP systems, and a structured, critical thinking approach to understanding and applying insights to real business needs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Conduct research on industries, markets, customers, competitors, and potential partners to support strategic and business development initiatives.
● Aggregate, analyze, and interpret data from internal systems (including ERP) and external sources; produce summaries, presentations, and reports tailored to senior leadership.
● Support commercial teams with market intelligence and business opportunity assessments.
● Research relevant grants or incentive opportunities and assist in compiling necessary application materials.
● Deliver ad hoc analysis and research in response to executive requests or evolving business priorities.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; familiarity with ERP systems and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply research and data insights in a practical business context.
● Ability to synthesize complex data and research into clear, structured insights.
● Highly organized and capable of managing multiple assignments concurrently.
● Self-directed, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious.
● Experience or interest in global trade, agriculture, or supply chain industries is an asset.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
● 2–4 years of experience in a research, analysis, or consulting role.
