Responsibilities

Data Analysis for complex systems
Reverse engineering functional specifications from data
Work closely with End Users/Clients to understand Business Processes, Industry Standards, and Regulatory Mandates
Collaborate with IT and Operations partners
Coordinate with external data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC, Markit) and standards organizations
Execute projects independently
Conduct Systems Integrated Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Create Function Specification Documents (FSD), System Requirement Specifications (SRS), and test plans

Skills Must Have

Minimum 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst
Strong background in financial reference data and capital markets
Proficient in SQL (querying, analyzing, troubleshooting)
Data analysis and mapping skills
College degree, specialized training, or equivalent experience
Detail-oriented with a data-driven approach
Understanding of business process reengineering, business modeling, and SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)
Excellent analytical and writing skills, including functional and technical specifications
Good communication skills with assertiveness
Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure
Knowledge of testing lifecycle, including SIT, UAT, and production environments

Nice to Have

Experience with major vendor data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC, Markit)
Project leadership experience
Experience collaborating with IT project managers and development teams
Knowledge of MS Excel and Visio
Experience with vendor product implementation
