Contract to hire opportunity.

Hybrid schedule (2-3 days onsite).

Office located in Downtown Houston.

You will be a key influencer to our client's Enterprise Data & Analytics team, driving ideation through to delivery and implementation of solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders to ensure decisions are fact-based, define the vision, empathize with the customer, prioritize customer value, and groom the backlog for development.

Accountabilities:

  1. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand objectives and transform them into scoped business changes, including defining MVP.
  2. Establish a requirements management strategy covering elicitation, documentation, tools, meetings, backlog grooming, review & approval, change, and communication processes.
  3. Elicit and document business requirements as vision statements, process models, objectives, goals, and success criteria.
  4. Elicit functional and non-functional requirements, documenting epics, stories, wireframes, rules, and acceptance criteria.
  5. Build, organize, prioritize, and maintain the project backlog, supporting the Business Lead/Product Owner.
  6. Facilitate backlog grooming, supporting scope and priority decisions for releases and sprints.
  7. Collaborate with Product Owner, Business Users, and Technical Team to write and elaborate user stories with acceptance criteria.
  8. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
  9. Review and analyze new stakeholder requests, updating the backlog accordingly.
  10. Maintain an understanding of how project parts fit together to deliver solutions.
  11. Perform functional testing during sprints and review testing issues.
  12. Write UAT scripts and facilitate user acceptance testing.
  13. Analyze data to inform decisions and track KPIs for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst.
  • 2-3 years’ experience supporting Agile/Scrum.
  • Experience with Agile tools like ADO, Jira is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse groups.
  • Proficient in business analysis techniques including data modeling, process flows, requirements documentation, and backlog management.
  • Scrum Master or Product Owner certification is a plus.
  • IIBA or CBAP certification is a plus.
