Fortune 500 Utility client in Downtown Houston, TX is looking to hire a Business Analyst to join their Gas Strategy team.

Scope of projects this role will work on include, but are not limited to:

Field Data Collection Optimization: Work directly with internal groups to identify activities going through the current solution and recommend a new solution with a transition timeline for each activity.
Utilize historical data and installation plans to forecast future meter installation volumes and potential opportunities for emergent replacements.
Digital As-builting: Work directly with internal groups to analyze historical project closure timelines compared to the proposed solution.

Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on energy industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
Strategic Planning: Assist in developing and implementing strategic plans that support the company’s goals.
Data Management: Analyze data related to market trends and historical data to provide insights that inform strategic decisions.
Collaboration: Work closely with different departments and stakeholders to gather information, coordinate efforts, and ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
Communication: Proactively provide updates to leadership and project team members regarding project status and ask clarifying questions as they arise.

Analytical Thinking: The ability to analyze complex data and identify trends is crucial for making informed strategic decisions.
Data Analysis: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Service Suite is a plus.
Industry Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of the energy sector, including market dynamics, regulatory environment, and technological advancements.
Communication: Effective communication skills for preparing and presenting findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: The ability to think critically and solve complex problems that may arise during strategic planning and implementation.
Collaboration: Working well with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships with different departments.
Autonomy: Self-starter comfortable working with minimal oversight to achieve project objectives.

Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in engineering, operations, IT, or related fields in a gas/electric environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Experience with IT (software) analytics/projects
