What Is the Opportunity?

Under general supervision, the Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, specifying and validating business and solution requirements to meet business needs. Work with a diverse stakeholder group, identify areas of contention and create a shared understanding between the customer community and the solution delivery team while maintaining alignment with Business and IT Strategies. May transition to unfamiliar business and systems domains with minimal guidance. This role typically does not lead others but may act as a team lead on small to medium sized initiatives and provide limited coaching to less experienced analysts.

What Will You Do?

  • Responsible for the success of the Requirements Definition Process for assigned work with general supervision.
  • Elicit, analyze, specify and communicate business, system and implementation requirements.
  • Ensure requirements are unambiguous and understandable by business users and solution delivery teams.
  • Prioritize requirements based on business value, risks and constraints.
  • Communicate conflicts to project leads and assist with conflict resolution.
  • Ensure requirements are understood and approved by stakeholders.
  • Manage requirement traceability and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure test strategy and test plans cover requirements; assist in defect resolution.
  • Measure and track the quality of business analysis work.
  • Develop requirements work plans with project leads; identify task dependencies, estimates and resource needs; support risk and change management.
  • Identify and articulate business objectives and value; influence consensus among stakeholders.
  • Verify and validate requirements; ensure they support business value and stakeholder needs.
  • Continuously improve requirements techniques and processes.
  • Support multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

  • Three years of experience in Business Systems or equivalent preferred.
  • P&C products/systems experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, MIS, or related field preferred.
