We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Technical Services team who will bring these same values and passion to help nonprofit organizations. A Business Intelligence Analyst is a client-facing full-time salaried intermediate-level position.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will work closely with our Data Architect and Senior Director, Technical Services to deliver analytics-focused solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for working closely with a team of Business Analysts, Technical Analysts and Client Success Managers to deliver analytics solutions and guide clients through the entire analytics lifecycle, from requirements gathering and data discovery to data modeling, visualization and ultimately implementation and ongoing maintenance. You will serve as a trusted data advisor for our clients, working with them to understand their data and how to best shape it to communicate impact or meet reporting requirements.
You will work with our Sales team to ensure our solutions are reflected accurately and projects and service agreements are properly scoped and estimated. You will serve as an analytics subject-mater expert at the firm, working with internal staff and clients alike. You will be the primarily escalation point for analytics across the firm and will work closely with senior leadership and the Technical Services Team to develop a clear analytics methodology.
You will work with our Data Architect to create data warehouse solutions, perform data migrations, and build and maintain analytics strategies and systems for our clients. You will work with tools such as PowerBI and Tableau to deliver compelling visualizations and enable data storytelling for our clients.
You will be expected to cross-train in areas of technology, knowledge management, project management and perform traditional development tasks. You will participate in client-facing requirements gathering and scoping activities, product demonstration, internal and end-user testing, front-end configuration, and other project work necessary to implement technology with nonprofits and social sector organizations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and build dashboards and reports in Tableau and Power BI, developing underlying data models and performing transformations that power effective, data-driven decision-making.
- Work with CTG staff and clients to develop industry-specific analytics solutions (e.g. Community Development Financial Institutions).
- Develop and present compelling BI solutions and demonstrations tailored to the needs of clients.
- Work with sales and leadership to determine scope, estimate effort and define requirements to deliver successful projects and managed services agreements.
- Collaborate with the sales team and Sales Engineer to develop collateral, demonstrations and serve as the subject-matter expert.
- Serve as a data escalation point for Technical Analysts and Business Analysts.
- Work with clients on the full data migration lifecycle, including scoping, mapping, transformations and technical data migration.
- Participate in the full application lifecycle – architect, design, development, testing and deployment – additionally support new and existing client data and analytics solutions.
- Utilize Azure, AWS and other data platforms as well as technology such as SQL, Python and DAX to deliver enhancements and fixes for clients.
- Work with CTG staff and clients to develop industry-specific analytics solutions (e.g. Community Development Financial Institutions).
- Proactively engage in continuous improvements efforts for application design support and Technical Services team development efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant technology and/or data experience
- Hands-on experience developing dashboards and reports in Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Demonstrated experience managing the full lifecycle of BI solution delivery — from requirements gathering and data modeling to dashboard development, deployment, and stakeholder support.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and basic Salesforce functionality
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving, creative thinking skills and a commitment to life-long learning
- Commitment to working in the nonprofit sector
- Flexibility to travel on occasion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Advanced Administrator or Nonprofit Cloud Consultant credential
- Experience delivering BI trainings or workshops to internal stakeholders or clients.
- Demonstrated experience with data warehousing solutions such as Azure Data Factory or Snowflake
- Technical experience configuring, deploying and monitoring data warehousing solutions using SQL, Python, R or similar technologies to transform data
- Experience with integrations using common API protocols such as REST and SOAP

Salary Hiring Range:
$75,000 – $90 ,000
