Only candidates local to Portland OR will be considered for this hybrid role.

Role Overview

As a member of the IT team, the Business Systems Analyst will serve as a bridge between business units and technical teams, facilitating project organization, execution, design, vendor evaluation, development, implementation, and management of multiple projects. Responsibilities span Business Knowledge, Scope Definition, Systems Requirements, Development, User Support, Quality Assurance, and Project Leadership.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead small to medium projects (or assist on larger projects) to ensure applications meet user requirements.
• Gather information from users, develop technical requirements, architecture, and design deliverables.
• Communicate technology considerations to business audiences and negotiate technical solutions against business requirements.
• Provide ongoing client support for technical system questions; serve as subject matter expert for designated systems.
• Analyze and resolve complex system problems, coordinating with vendors and other parties as needed.
• Conduct interviews and facilitate requirements gathering, process analysis, and application design sessions with stakeholders.
• Document and recommend process and system enhancements to improve business performance and maximize technology effectiveness.
• Maintain product/application backlogs according to department standards.
• Provide solutions spanning network, application, database, middleware, and security.
• Partner with business and IT teams to estimate resources and timelines; communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Develop sizing estimates and feasibility for new or modified systems, including communication and training plans.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
• Experience with BPM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Power Automate, Monday.com).
• Knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic, and MS SharePoint.
• Strong ERP knowledge (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience supporting EDI transactions and troubleshooting issues.
• Skill in facilitating and leading meetings; ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users.
• Experience analyzing, designing, and implementing workflow and business process enhancements within applications.
• Ability to use tools for data profiling, cleansing, analysis, and modeling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to see beyond surface issues and implement effective solutions.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to quickly learn new systems and processes
