Business Support Analyst

Position Summary

The Business Support Analyst provides critical support across payroll, benefits, operations reporting, procurement, and contract management. This role partners with leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting, ensure compliance, and drive data-informed decision-making. In addition, the Analyst will play a key role in fiber procurement strategy and administration of supplier contracts. The position requires advanced technical skills, particularly in analytics and reporting platforms, to streamline financial processes and generate actionable insights.

This is a hybrid position with the opportunity to transition to a fully remote role following a successful integration and performance period.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Manage payroll processing and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Reconcile employee benefit accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare production and operations reports that align with plant and business KPIs.
  • Conduct general ledger analysis and account reconciliations.
  • Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Prepare and deliver ad hoc financial reports for leadership and operations teams.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing variance analysis and recommendations.

Procurement & Contract Administration

  • Oversee fiber procurement, including supplier engagement, cost tracking, and inventory alignment with production needs.
  • Manage contract administration, ensuring compliance with terms and timely renewals.
  • Monitor vendor performance and escalate issues to leadership as required.
  • Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to optimize fiber sourcing and delivery strategies.

Data Analysis & Tools

  • Develop and maintain dashboards in Power BI to track key metrics across finance, procurement, and operations.
  • Use advanced Excel modeling to support forecasting, scenario planning, and financial decision-making.
  • Automate routine reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data trends to support strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of financial analysis or related experience; manufacturing or procurement background strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
  • Experience in fiber procurement or commodity purchasing a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contracts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, advanced formulas), and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
