Dental Assistant Job Responsibilities
- Work at dental offices, orthodontic practices, and dental surgery centers to assist during dental cleanings and oral surgery
- Educate patients about procedures and oral care, provide instructions, order x-rays and scans, and schedule routine appointments
- Set up exam tables, assist during cleanings and fillings, and handle instruments during procedures
- Administrative duties such as scheduling, stocking supplies, and billing
- Ensure patient comfort and understanding of treatment and dental wellness
- Work with and troubleshoot various dental, medical, scheduling, and other software
Dental Assistant Job Requirements
- Must possess at least one of the following: an active dental assistant certificate, a radiology certificate, or an active IN license
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
