Dental Care of South Aiken is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team.

More about the role

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as maintain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment.
• Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (e.g., iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (i.e., four-handed dentistry) to dentists during procedures, in accordance with state dental practice laws.
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols and OSHA & CDC guidelines.
• Manage supply and inventory levels, placing and expediting orders as needed.
• Partner with providers and team members to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize office workflow.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Dental assistant and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must protect PHI and complete HIPAA training as required.

Preferred Experience

• 1+ years of experience in a dental setting.
• Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software.
• Dental assisting certification from an accredited program.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Prolonged sitting and standing.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Availability for periodic training sessions.
• A TB test is required prior to employment, except in FL & TN.
