As a Full Time Dental Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Houston, TX. The scheduled hours are Monday–Friday with 4–10 hour shifts or 5–8 hour shifts based on business needs. Available options include 7:00am–6:00pm, 7:00am–4:00pm, or 9:00am–6:00pm.

What You'll Do

  • Provide chair side assistance to dental providers in the performance of dental procedures, including operative, preventive, periodontal, endodontic, prosthetic, and other procedures as needed.
  • Prepare, sterilize, organize, and set up dental equipment to ensure that all dental sterilization guidelines are followed according to ADA and Premise Health guidelines and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain dental inventory, supplies and equipment (e.g., compressor, evacuator system, sterilizers, light curing units) in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Take dental radiographs in accordance with provider orders; assist in the monitoring and maintenance of radiation safety procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities related to dental practice and ensure the dental component complies with regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Provide excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, email, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs.
  • Maintain logs according to manufacturer guidelines and Premise Health procedures.
  • Maintain dental laboratory slips, creating dental records of incoming and outgoing dental cases; maintain proper maintenance of dental charts and forms.
  • Provide patients with written and/or verbal post-operative instructions for dental procedures; surgical/invasive procedures require written discharge instructions.
  • May require other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Documentation of state/national license/registration (e.g., Dental Assisting National Board – Certified Dental Assistant - DANB CDA) with copy/verification as applicable.
  • Copy of Radiation Safety/X-ray Certificate or equivalent if not DANB CDA as required by state dental board.
  • CPR certification (BLS for community/lay responder or Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer) with hands-on evaluation; certification must meet American Heart Association standards.
  • Graduate from an accredited Dental Assistant Program or a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Previous experience with digital imaging preferred.
