Position Purpose:
As a Dental Assistant at Mercy Care Atlanta, you will provide crucial support in delivering comprehensive dental services to medically underserved individuals. Working under the direct supervision of a dentist or dental hygienist, you will assist with patient care, instrument preparation, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinical operations. You’ll also participate in community health events and outreach 3-4 times a year.
What You Will Do
- Assist dentists and hygienists in performing a variety of dental procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patients under sedation, alerting the dentist to any concerns.
- Prepare, sterilize, and organize dental instruments and equipment.
- Ensure accurate preparation and updating of patient records.
- Participate in training and development of other dental staff.
- Offer compassionate care for a wide range of patients, including children, adults, and the elderly.
- Engage in community health events to expand dental care access.
- High school diploma or GED required; dental assistant vocational school preferred.
- Certified to operate radiographic equipment in Georgia.
- At least one year of experience assisting in comprehensive dental treatments.
- CPR certification required.
- Proficiency in dental instruments, equipment, and materials.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
