More about the role

1. Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment.
2. Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care.
3. Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (e.g., iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
4. Provide superior chairside assistance (i.e., four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act.
5. Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
6. Prepare treatment rooms with adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations.
7. Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed.
8. Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle minimum PHI necessary for job functions; regular HIPAA training required; must protect PHI and data safeguards.

Preferred Experience

• 1+ years of experience in a dental setting.
• Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
• Dental assisting school certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Prolonged sitting and standing.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
• Availability for periodic virtual or in-person training.
• TB test required prior to employment, arranged during pre-employment; not applicable in FL & TN.
