Role Overview
The dental assistant (surgical assistant) at Nuvia Dental Implant Center plays a crucial role in assisting our surgeons and restorative dentists so they can focus on delivering a premium, safe, and memorable patient experience. Responsibilities span from setup and surgery support to taking impressions, pouring molds, taking X-rays, placing orders, and coordinating with patients.

- Setting up and breaking down operation rooms to ensure surgeons do not need to leave the surgical area
- Placing orders for basic and implant supplies
- Adjusting and relining prosthesis
- Assisting the doctor during a variety of surgical implant procedures
- Delivering pre- and post-operative instructions
- Sterilization and daily cleaning
- Managing patient expectations and delivering best-in-class patient care
Qualifications
- Registered Dental Assistant with all proper certifications
- Self-starter who works well as part of a team
- Patient-centric with good communication skills
- Outgoing and empathetic
- Flexible and a quick learner
- Great organizational skills and high level of office aptitude
A Day In The Life
Surgery prep and start: Prepare instruments and patients for surgery; review surgery expectations with the surgeon and CRNA. Assist the CRNA with the intubation process and assist with surgery.
Morning huddle: Review the day’s schedule and collaborate with the team to address patient needs.
Meet lab deadlines: Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines and ensure prosthetics are available when needed.
Overcoming obstacles: Problem-solve daily to address equipment challenges, patient delays, and concerns to maintain smooth operations and deliver excellent patient care.
Perform circular tasks: Order supplies, sterilize, ensure compliance, and handle lab requests or questions to keep the clinic running smoothly.
End of day: Complete surgery reports and prepare for upcoming patients by reviewing charts, lab cases, and implants to create the action plan for the next day.
