Job Title: Dental Assistant Location: Ocala, FL Duration: 10+ Months Type: Contract (Opportunity to become permanent) Notes: (M-F, 8 AM - 5 PM) or flexible 2-3 days per week Job Summary: The Client is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to support clinical and community-based dental programs. This role involves performing expanded duties as permitted by Florida regulations, assisting dentists in providing comprehensive dental care, and ensuring compliance with infection control and safety standards. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, detail-oriented, bilingual (English/Spanish preferred), and comfortable working with pediatric populations. Key Responsibilities: Perform expanded dental assistant duties including polishing crowns, applying topical fluoride and varnish, placing sealants, fabricating temporary crowns, removing sutures, and cementing temporary restorations. ssist dentists using four-handed techniques, including passing instruments, retracting tongue/cheeks, suctioning, mixing materials, and adjusting lights/equipment. Review patient medical history, take vitals, document SOAP notes, and update electronic oral health records using EagleSoft software. Take and process radiographs using ScanX phosphoric plates; maintain active radiographic certification. Ensure operatory setup and readiness before patient arrival; maintain instruments and equipment. Clean, sterilize, and disinfect dental instruments, autoclave, counters, and clinical surfaces following OSHA and infection control protocols. Support pediatric patients in school-based dental programs; travel up to 10% may be required. Demonstrate a positive, professional attitude toward dentists, staff, patients, and families. Required Qualifications: Florida Dental Radiology Certificate Florida Dental Expanded Duty Certificate Current CPR certification Valid Florida driver's license Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant (including treatment, radiographs, operatory setup, sterilization, and four-handed techniques) Knowledge of OSHA standards, dental procedures, infection control, and hazardous dental materials bility to accurately document and update electronic records (EagleSoft) Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) Experience working with pediatric patients Familiarity with EagleSoft, ScanX, and HMS software
