Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
We are seeking a mechanically skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our maintenance team at a high-volume wood products facility. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of sawmill operations through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on wood processing equipment including debarkers, gang saws, conveyors, and material handling systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and replacements on bearings, chains, belts, motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with OEM guidelines and internal PM schedules.
- Collaborate with electricians, welders, and production staff to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and components safely.
- Support installation and commissioning of new or refurbished equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal Millwright Certification or equivalent trade credentials (apprentices considered).
- Fabrication & Welding Experience MIG, Stick welding for repairs and modifications.
- PLC Troubleshooting Basic experience with programmable logic controllers (limited use onsite).
- Forklift Maintenance Hands-on experience with propane and industrial forklifts.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) an asset for team communication.
- Prior experience in sawmill or wood manufacturing environments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
