Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our busy shop. As a mechanic working with both fuel and diesel vehicles, you will need to diagnose and repair issues related to vehicle performance and schedule routine maintenance for the fleet.

As a Shop Mechanic, you must have an in-depth understanding of all vehicle systems and components. You will also be responsible for maintaining repair shop equipment, preparing cost estimates, and maintaining a clean, organized environment.

The ideal candidate is skilled in communicating with vehicle owners, able to explain vehicle issues clearly and concisely, and provide valuable advice.

Responsibilities

1. Diagnose and repair vehicles coming into the shop
2. Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
3. Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
4. Create repair estimates and timelines and convey information to customers in an easy-to-understand manner
5. Maintain accurate repair shop records and paperwork

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Automotive service technician training program is preferred
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) certification is preferred
• Bilingual skills are a plus
