What You’ll Do
- Repair or maintain industrial machinery or equipment.
- Replace or repair broken components.
- Disassemble and reassemble machinery for repairs.
- Diagnose malfunctions using testing devices.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts and machinery.
- Examine parts for defects.
- Operate repaired machinery to verify repairs.
- Analyze test results and error messages.
- Record parts used and repairs performed.
- Study blueprints and manuals for proper installation and operation.
- Cut and weld metal to repair or fabricate parts.
- Program computer-controlled machinery.
- Demonstrate equipment functions to operators.
What You’ll Need
- High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years of relevant experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in the industrial mechanic field.
- No specific computer skills or certifications required.
