This position is considered a safety-sensitive position. All actions, responsibilities, and job duties must be performed in a safe manner in accordance with the company's safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Uses hand tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, drills, lathes, jacks and hoists.
• Adjusts brakes, tightens bolts and screws, and reassembles equipment.
• Examines and adjusts protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
• Attaches test instruments to equipment and reads dials/gauges to diagnose malfunctions.
• Inspects, tests, and listens to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
• Inspects, repairs, and maintains automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery such as pumps and compressors.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure the machines continue to run smoothly.
• Cleans or lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
• Records type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have own tools.
• A high school diploma or G.E.D.; 2-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
