Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers, Inc. is looking for atalented Patient Access Representativeto provide care and help makean impact with our most underserved populations.

Summary: The Patient Access Representative isresponsible for handling high-volume inbound and outbound calls for anambulatory healthcare facility which includes Internal Medicine,OB-GYN and Dental services. He or she will provide excellent customerservice to patients and staff. Ideal candidate should have priorexperience working in an ambulatory care setting or call center withan emphasis on scheduling and patient satisfaction.

Hours: The full-time position requires the ability towork a flexible schedule. General hours would be between 8:00 am-7:00 pm, Monday - Friday with at least two latenights per week.

There are full time, part time options available.

Position Responsibilities/Duties:
* Answer incoming telephone calls through multiple line systemin a courteous and professional manner
* Perform an accuratesearch for the patient in the database, thus reducing the number ofduplicate patient records in EMR system
* Obtain all appropriatedemographic and financial coverage for the patient and entering thedata into the Registration Database
* Schedule appointments usingthe correct protocols established by department, for every providerwithin a department and for ancillary departments when required
*Assessing the patient’s financial ability to pay for services andprovide patients with necessary information required
* Routephone calls; transfers calls as appropriate to clinical and supportstaff
* Address questions and concerns from callers and forwardto appropriate staff or department; answer and manage voice mail andfaxes
* Maintain excellent interpersonal skills in dealing withinternal and external callers
* Demonstrate excellent customerservice skills
* Coordinate obtaining interpreter services, asrequired for patient visits
* Report all critical incidents tomanager in a timely fashion
* Other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills:

Position Requirements:

*High School Diploma or GED

* Experience in an ambulatory care physician/dental practice withprevious scheduling and registration experience

* Familiar with medical terminology

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability towork in a fast paced/large volume setting required
* Bilingualcandidates preferred (Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole)
