Overview
The Call Center Representative I will receive inbound phone calls at our call center from Ryder Platinum National Accounts, Ryder Shops, and On Demand Customers and will be responsible for scheduling service for truck and trailer breakdowns, scheduling preventive maintenance (PM) service, and assisting with service-related questions. The Call Center Customer Service Representative must deliver outstanding customer service to ensure customers receive the best possible experience.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Assist customers experiencing vehicle breakdowns, execute communication protocols for breakdowns and PM scheduling, provide status updates, and drive improvements in Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores.
- Workflow Management: Identify available resources, follow shift scheduling (including breaks and lunch), coordinate with on-call technicians, rental counter team, and the customer’s drivers and dispatch teams to identify repair requirements and available substitute units; coordinate outside repairs with vendors and customers.
- Administrative: Handle all incoming and follow-up calls; process customer service requests on topics including billing, warranty, compliance paperwork; participate in QA reviews as calls are monitored.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned; contribute to a positive call center environment; maintain a courteous and proactive attitude; support 24/7 operations with flexibility for 2nd/3rd shift, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Three (3) years or more in Customer Service with issue resolution required
- Strong customer service skills, clear verbal and written communication, ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Prefer candidates with accounting, billing, and/or credit experience
Skills and Abilities
- Empathy and strong voice for drivers in breakdown situations
- Ability to build professional relationships at all organizational levels
- Independent and team-oriented work style; detail-oriented with strong follow-up
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with potential process changes
Schedule and Location
- Shift: 8-hour shifts during business hours (8:00am – 8:00pm) with 2nd/3rd shift options, weekends, and holidays as required
- Training: 3 weeks in Alpharetta, GA; after training, remote work is available
- Interviews: Alpharetta, GA
- Tentative start date: October
Compensation
Pay Type: Hourly
Minimum Pay Range: $17.00
Maximum Pay Range: $17.00
