BUILDING CLEANING WORKER II – State of New Hampshire

Location: Conway Circuit Court, 35 East Conway Rd., Center Conway, NH 03813

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 11:00am

Starting hourly pay: $15.93 – $20.80

Agency: Department of Administrative Services, Division of Plant and Property, Bureau of Court Facilities. This is a part-time vacancy.

Summary: To serve as a team or crew lead, and/or shift point person, and to independently provide a full range of cleaning, custodial or janitorial duties associated with the care, cleaning, and maintenance of state facilities, buildings, grounds, or institutions; may include assignment to multiple units, areas, locations, or districts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor individuals or crews; ensure cleaning, shift details, and projects are completed on schedule; inspect work for quality and health/safety standards; recommend personnel actions or changes to standard procedures to supervisor.
  • Interact with building or facility employees; investigate complaints about cleanliness, service, or equipment and take corrective actions on-site.
  • Complete daily activity reports and inventories; ensure supplies and equipment are available; order or advise supervisor of needs.
  • Perform grounds maintenance such as snow removal, debris/garbage removal, salting/sanding, mowing, hedge trimming, and furniture/equipment movement as needed.
  • Conduct light to heavy custodial tasks (dusting, vacuuming, floor care, window washing, disinfecting) and apply solvents/chemicals following health and safety requirements.
  • Perform routine building maintenance like changing lightbulbs, adjusting/replacing fixtures, and resetting machinery or environmental systems.

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensure/Certification: None
  • Other Requirements: None
  • Trainee Option: Not applicable
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience coaching and guiding less experienced team members; experience cleaning large complex or building; ability to follow verbal directions.

Additional Information

  • Experience leading teams and ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to procedures.
  • Interacts with staff to resolve issues and maintains daily logs.
