Requirements: Master’s degree from an accredited Clinical Social Work program. Current licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Social Workers.

General Description: The Social Worker works under the Early Intervention Program Director as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services to children birth to three years of age in a family-centered program. The Social Worker works directly with children and families in natural environments such as homes and daycares. They coordinate with families, team members, and outside providers to maximize developmental and learning outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to children and young adults with neurobehavioral disorders
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, complete service notes
  • Support families and act as liaison with schools and residential staff
  • Collaborate with outside providers such as DCF and DDS
  • Provide consultation and training to staff
  • Participate in clinical rounds, IEP meetings, and treatment planning
  • Assist families with guardianship, benefits, and transition to adult services
  • Coordinate family engagement events and Parent Advisory Council meetings
