Overview

Social Worker role at Saint Luke's Health System – inpatient environment. This is a full-time position with shift 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Work

• Provides social work services to patients in an acute care setting for patients with acute, chronic, or terminal illnesses and their families.
• Identifies psychosocial needs, conducts psychosocial assessments, performs discharge planning, crisis intervention, information and referrals, protective services, and patient/family education.
• Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team for patient care. Duties may include program development, evaluation, professional education, or supervision of students and BSW staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
• Knowledge of theory and practice of social work at the MSW level and basic research skills.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and with patients of various ages and cultural backgrounds.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

• Licensed Master Social Worker (MO) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
• Master's Degree.
• Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
