Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-based social worker role is available in Warren, MI, offering a contract position for the uping school year. This opportunity is ideal for a certified School Social Worker (SSW) licensed by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) who is ready to contribute to the well-being and success of students in an onsite setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social work services to students, including assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop support plans that address academic and social/emotional needs
- Facilitate referrals to munity resources and support agencies as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in pliance with school policies and state regulations
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute insights regarding student welfare and progress
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification as a School Social Worker (SSW) by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is required
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings
- Strong interpersonal and munication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and school personnel
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of social work practice
