Classification:   Full Time Exempt

Reports To:   IT Manager

Summary/Objective: The IT Support Specialist role assists in the daily operations of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the companies.

This position will assist in the planning, troubleshooting, coordinating, maintaining, and directing of IT related activities, as well as providing direction and support for the daily operational activities of the department.  This includes installing, modifying, and repairs to Company computer hardware and software systems, and providing technical advice and support to system users for all Companies.

Essential Functions:

-       Install computer hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, and printers on user’s premises

-       Install and configure appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components, and office applications

-       Identify and procure hardware and software needed to meet requirements

-       Provide support, troubleshooting, research, and problem resolution to end users

-       Work as part of the IT Helpdesk to manage and resolve open issues

-       Work with the IT team to manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, workstations, laptops, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals, office equipment, networking equipment, phone systems, copy machines, and postage meters

-       Maintain accounts within IT managed systems (Active Directory, Email, Epics, as well as others)

-       Provide IT related training to individual users

-       Follow established standards and procedures

-       Communicate with others clearly and in a resolution-oriented manner

-       Performs other duties as assigned

-       Some traveling required

Skills and Qualifications:

-       2 years of IT related experience (personal or professional)

-       Basic working knowledge of common computer hardware and software systems

-       Some experience configuring computers running a Windows OS

-       Basic understanding of networking concepts (Domains, DNS, DHCP)

-       Basic understanding of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle)

-       Basic understanding of programming concepts (scripts, SQL, PHP, HTML)

-       Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

-       Good time management

-       Capable of working as part of a team

-       Able to take and follow instructions

-       Able to prepare oral and written reports

-       Desire for constant development and learning

-       Able to multi-task

-       Experience with SQL, Oracle, and\or Epics preferred

-       Degree in technical and related computer fields preferred
