IT Specialist

The IT Specialist at DSV is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the IT infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure operations. This role involves managing hardware and software installations, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting various IT projects to optimize the company's technology resources. The IT Specialist will collaborate with different departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related problems promptly and efficiently.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and networks.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems by implementing appropriate measures.
  • Manage and monitor the company's network infrastructure.
  • Ensure optimal network performance and availability.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and optimize network settings.
  • Install, configure, and update software applications as needed.
  • Manage software licenses and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Provide training and support for software applications used within the company.
  • Participate in IT projects to enhance the company's technology infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with different departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions.
  • Implement new technologies and systems to improve operational efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain data security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with IT vendors and service providers to ensure quality service and support.
  • Manage vendor contracts and agreements related to IT services and products.
  • Evaluate and recommend new IT products and services to enhance operations.

Educational background / Work experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in IT support, preferably in the transportation and logistics industry or a related field
  • Experience with hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Experience with networking technologies, such as LAN, WAN, and VPN

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems; Service Now is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus
  • Familiarity with RF guns and label printers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Certification in ITIL, CompTIA A+, or other relevant certifications
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V

Language skills

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)

Computer Literacy

  • Proficient in IT support tools and technologies, including Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and remote support tools
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
  • Familiarity with server operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux

Work Environment

  • This position is onsite.
  • Travel is expected about 10-20% of the time for business needs, including visits to other company locations, client sites, or vendor facilities.
  • Working hours may occasionally extend outside of standard business hours to address urgent technical issues, perform maintenance tasks, or support IT projects. Flexibility is required to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $71,000.00-$106,500.00 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
