Overview
Impact Staffing International is seeking an IT Helpdesk Support Technician to join our client’s IT team at the Parco Refinery in Sinclair, WY for a 3-month contract dedicated to a PC refresh project involving approximately 200 laptops that must be updated to Windows 11 before year-end. You will go onsite Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM.
In this role, you will support end-users throughout the refresh process by migrating data and files from old machines to new Windows 11 devices, installing required software to ensure proper functionality, and working directly with employees to validate that new machines mirror their old systems prior to decommissioning. Other responsibilities include updating the asset management database with accurate records, coordinating the recycling of legacy machines, providing Tier 1 helpdesk support and troubleshooting, relocating and setting up equipment across the refinery, and collaborating with the onsite IT team (Network Administrator and Desktop Support) to meet tight project deadlines while adhering to refinery compliance and safety requirements, including facial hair policies (no beards, goatees, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Support end-users during the PC refresh project (data migration, software installation, validation of new Windows 11 devices).
- Update asset management database with accurate records.
- Coordinate recycling of legacy machines.
- Provide Tier 1 helpdesk support and troubleshooting.
- Relocate and set up equipment across the refinery.
- Collaborate with onsite IT team to meet project deadlines.
- Adhere to refinery compliance and safety requirements, including facial hair policies.
Required Skills and Background:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of IT support experience, preferably in desktop refresh or helpdesk roles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 10/11 environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to transfer data, install software, and verify end-user system performance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIA A+ certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- MCP certification within 12 months.
- Prior experience supporting hardware refresh projects in enterprise or industrial settings.
- Network+ or HDI certification a plus.
