POSITION SUMMARY: The IT Support Center Technician provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technology support for BJU, Inc. employees’ computers, applications, printers, and phones. The role involves addressing user needs, assisting with scheduling and task management for student technicians, and seeking continuous improvement of user experiences with supported technologies.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Provide solutions to user issues with hardware, network, printers, and software.
  • Answer calls on the IT Support line and assist users.
  • Assist onsite with setup and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Research and recommend technical solutions for challenges.
  • Maintain documentation of issues and solutions.
  • Improve user experiences with supported technologies.
  • Assist with training and supervising student technicians.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Leadership ability.
  • Ability to work with interruptions.
  • Initiative in problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Apple OS platforms.
  • Basic understanding of LAN, hubs, switches, and network config.
  • Experience in technical support.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to users.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software components.
  • Familiarity with office and non-standard applications.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree.
