Stratum Networks is a rapidly growing information assurance and cybersecurity solutions
company that provides high-end network and security consulting to Department of Defense and Intelligence Community clients. We are looking for a talented and passionate Level 1 Hardware Technician who would support one of our clients located in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.
Candidates are required to have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph to
be considered for the position.
Job Description:
- Conduct site surveys; assess and document current site configuration and user requirements.
- Analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.
- Develop hardware installation schedules.
- Prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at each site.
- Prepare site installation plans.
- Configure computers, communications devices, and peripherals.
- Train site personnel in proper hardware use.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
- Install and configure computer workstations, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and cabling.
- Maintain government and vendor fiber optic/Ethernet cables & telephone systems.
Salary: $31k - $71k depending on experience and contract. Excellent benefits include up to 3 weeks paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, immediate health care eligibility, and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- High school/GED with 0-2 years of experience and 8570 Certification; Security+ preferred. An AA or BS in a technical field can substitute experience.
- Skilled in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting hardware and peripherals.
- Proficient in Windows OS, applications, antivirus, and patches.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective time management and ability to work independently.
- Experience working remotely with end-users.
- Familiarity with Active Directory security and policies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in tight spaces, and drive a company vehicle.
Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must possess a TS/SCI polygraph clearance.
