to join our Energy Storage Value Creation team. This is a hybrid position working 3 days in the office and 2 days from home weekly at Rochester Hills, MI; Elmendorf near San Antonio, TX; or Lisle, IL. The HV Battery Regulation, Requirements, and Standards Engineer will be responsible for RESS Requirements, Safety, Standards, Regulatory compliance, and certification aspects of HV battery rechargeable energy storage systems (RESS), including government, industry, and company compliance. The work involves collaboration with our internal International regulatory & requirements teams and co-development with our TRATON partners. Responsibilities

Authoring RESS Requirements for Safety, Regulatory, Standards compliance, and certification. Identifying & reconciling global, governmental, regional, industry, TRATON & Navistar brand requirements applicable to RESS. Representing Navistar in forums & consortiums for North American applications while harmonizing for other markets and TRATON partners. Clarifying requirement ambiguities, identifying issues, and supporting resolution of missing or conflicting requirements. Reconciling regulation & standard differences across various markets to harmonize and develop common solutions. Flowing high-level requirements into the Design Requirements Document (DRD) for RESS. Managing the compliance portion of the RESS DVP&R, including resource planning, test procedures, and result assessment. Authoring RESS Verification & Validation methods and test plans for lab-bench and vehicle-level prototypes. Managing special testing required for regulatory bodies (e.g., FMVSS, ECE, CARB). Supporting vehicle-level testing for safety, regulatory, and standards compliance. Leading or assisting in root-cause analysis (8D) for RESS non-compliance issues and suggesting corrective actions. Authoring and maintaining RESS requirements interface documents linking Safety, Regulatory, Standards to system and component DRDs & verification plans, including developing Excel-based tools for assessment and visualization. Collaborating with vehicle controls and battery controls teams to ensure compliance of RESS HV architecture, software functions, and vehicle interfaces. Working with brand vehicle performance teams to understand customer use cases and variations in compliance across markets, developing solutions to optimize performance. Championing customer-oriented, standardized solutions for common needs, focusing on shared interfaces for TRATON brands. Collaborating effectively across teams, brands, and time zones. Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 5 years of experience in product design/development. OR Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience. OR PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology. Additional Requirements

Qualified candidates (excluding current employees) must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship (e.g., US Citizen, Permanent Resident, Refugee, Asylee). We do not anticipate providing sponsorship for this role. Desired Skills

Engineering degree, MS or PhD preferred. Experience with FMVSS 305, ECE R100, and UN GTR No. 20. Knowledge of thermodynamics, EMC/EMI, grounding & bonding practices. Experience with DAQ systems, power electronics, electrified propulsion, HV lithium-ion batteries, and physical testing of RESS. Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, LIN, J1939), HV battery management, cell balancing, HV isolation monitoring. DFSS green or black-belt certification preferred. Willingness and ability to travel internationally for 1-2 weeks several times a year. Benefits and Compensation
