The EV Charging Project Manager leads the full lifecycle of public, enterprise, and workplace EV charging infrastructure installations—from feasibility and design to permitting, incentive approval, utility approval, construction, commissioning, energization, and customer handoff. Champions safety, quality, and stakeholder alignment to ensure projects meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives.

This individual must have experience with construction project processes and an understanding of standard electrical equipment. Characteristics of an ideal candidate include Organization, effective communication, problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, time management, and collaboration within the department and across departments, particularly with Sales.

This position offers a competitive salary in the range of $65,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities

· Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, managing communication with customers, utilities, subcontractors, internal departments, and other stakeholders.

· Conduct project startup activities, including introducing yourself to customers, confirming project scope, timelines, funding/incentive status, and establishing cadence of communications.

· Prepare, submit, and track Utility New Service Applications; coordinate directly with utility planners throughout the project.

· Apply for and track permitting with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), including engaging engineering vendors when required.

· Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, schedules, and risk assessments in alignment with the approved proposal.

· Order and track major equipment (standard, nonstandard, and custom switchboards/panels) in collaboration with Supply Chain and Procurement.

· Prepare site-specific safety documentation in accordance with Lynkwell’s Health & Safety Plan and ensure compliance onsite.

· Coordinate and engage installation teams (internal or subcontracted), securing commitments on schedule, budget, and insurance.

· Manage preconstruction readiness, including utility readiness, permitting status, subcontractor scheduling, project kickoff calls, and materials ordering.

· Lead customer communications through all stages, providing weekly updates during construction, preconstruction, and utility interconnect phases.

· Manage charger pre-commissioning to ensure proper connectivity and performance.

· Oversee active construction by supervising subcontractors remotely or onsite, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to project drawings.

· Facilitate inspections, site validations, change orders, and escalation pathways in coordination with Sales, Operations, and Engineering.

· Coordinate with utilities during interconnection; communicate energization timelines and manage alignment between site completion and grid readiness.

· Lead commissioning and testing, including torque and voltage checks, test charges, OEM commissioning protocols, and customer witness testing for final acceptance.

· Ensure proper project closeout, including documentation, financial reconciliation, customer satisfaction checks, handoff to Account Management, and lessons learned documentation.

· Maintain accurate project records in CRM and project management and field service management systems, including budgets, schedules, contracts, subcontractor quotes, safety documentation, and closeout packages.

· Champion continuous improvement by identifying risks, bottlenecks, and lessons learned to inform future projects.

Requirements and skills

· 3+ years of project management experience in construction, electrical, or infrastructure industries.

· Strong estimating, budgeting, cost control, and scheduling skills.

· Current PMP or project management certification.

· Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and EVSE equipment (L2 and DCFC).

· Ability to manage permitting, incentives, and utility interconnections with minimal supervision.

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and external partners.

· You have experience implementing NetSuite Suite Projects and Field Service Management modules or similar software platforms.
