Work Location: Hybrid in Durham, NC 27701 (In office every Tuesday & Thursday)

We are looking for a Senior Accountant, that’s a CPA skilled in Revenue Recognition and has a SaaS background, for our valued client. This permanent, direct-hire position is hybrid in Durham, NC (in office every Tuesday & Thursday).

This individual will play a key role in overseeing critical areas of the month-end close, customer contract reviews, technical accounting, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate has strong working knowledge of ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), is highly proficient in NetSuite, and thrives in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

Responsibilities

• Own key components of the monthly close process, including preparing and reviewing complex journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform and oversee account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and analyze customer contracts for proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
• Serve as a key contributor to the year-end audit, including preparing audit schedules and managing auditor requests.
• Support tax compliance (sales/use, franchise, 1099, etc.) in collaboration with external advisors and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and lead process improvements, including documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Act as a NetSuite power user, helping optimize system workflows and reporting.
• Leverage AI to improve processes
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and Finance teams on revenue, billing, and contract-related matters.
• Assist with reviewing the work of other team members as needed to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a SaaS or technology environment preferred.
• Are a CPA.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
• Experience preparing for and supporting external audits.
• Proficient in NetSuite; experience with system optimization or automation is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Demonstrated initiative in improving processes and documenting procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

Compensation

The Comp consists of a Salary ranging from $95,000 to $120,000 per year plus Equity. Also included is Benefits, unlimited PTO, and 401k.

The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
