We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of accounting experience who is eager to build a career in the insurance industry. The staff accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, assist in financial reporting, and work closely with the Senior Accountant to ensure accuracy and compliance.
What you\'ll do
- General Accounting: Assist in preparing monthly journal entries and maintaining the general ledger. Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements and statutory filings.
- Internal Controls: Maintain documentation for accounting transactions and ensure proper recordkeeping and participate in process improvement efforts to contribute to team efficiency.
- Audit Coordination: Help compile data for internal and external audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of progressive accounting experience (insurance industry experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
- Basic understanding of GAAP and willingness to learn statutory accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
