Our prestigious client, located in Union, NJ, is seeking an accomplished and driven Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is a high-visibility role within a thriving organization, offering the chance to make a significant impact on financial operations while working alongside top-tier professionals. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for process excellence—helping to drive accuracy, efficiency, and growth within the accounting function.

Position Summary

Responsible for supporting month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and audit processes. Duties include preparing journal entries, analyzing account activity, and assisting with special accounting projects. This position also performs monthly and quarterly reconciliations, leads cash account reviews, resolves discrepancies, and collaborates with other departments to ensure accuracy. Additional responsibilities include recommending process improvements and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts monthly, ensuring reconciling items are addressed promptly.
• Maintain roll-forward schedules for select accounts to support audit requirements.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and prepare related journal entries.
• Compile supporting schedules for annual external audits and periodic bank audits.
• Perform financial analysis to support monthly reporting requirements.
• Assist with special accounting projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience (CPA preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
