Overview
Dental Assistant role at PrimeHealth+ in Montrose, CO. Assists Dentist with dental procedures, including preparation of examination room and equipment, patient preparation, radiographic setup and development, and chair side procedural assistance.
Essential Functions
- Assist chair side and participate in creating and explaining dental treatment plans.
- Clean, disinfect, sterilize and organize dental operatory and laboratory areas. Properly bag and dispose of contaminated wastes and supplies. Open and close clinic independently. Responsible for keeping sterilization area updated.
- Perform limited hygiene services of child prophy and application of topical fluoride.
- Oversee general care and maintenance of dental equipment and supplies. Assist with inventory control measures and processes.
- Responsible for charting requirements; x-ray, crown & bridge, Caries Risk Assessment, root canal and denture procedures.
- Schedule dental appointments and be available to help any other dental provider when needed.
- Perform coronal polish for adults and children. Night Guard delivery, take alginate impressions, pour up models, create custom trays and wax rims.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and maintenance of dental records in paper or electronic form.
- Responsible for accurate completion of X-ray process and X-ray certification.
- Participate in laboratory processes: dentures, crowns, metal and resin partials, lab shipment locations, fill out scripts, schedule shipment, advise on dentures/partials home care.
- Fabrication of temporary crowns.
- Lead daily dental flow and manage two rooms for procedures.
- Participate in training for new employees and schedule dental appointments.
- Order supplies, inventory and track shipments.
- Assist the QI department in all HRSA requirements.
- Comply with OSHA, HIPAA and BLS policies and procedures at MarillacHealth.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- Good proficiency in PC applications including Microsoft Office and EMR/EDR systems.
- Ability to multitask while actively listening.
- Excellent keyboarding skills.
- Good telephone manners with a clear speaking voice.
- Effective communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients, outside professionals and staff.
- Ability to work in a team care model.
Required Education/Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- One year of demonstrable dental experience chair side.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Certification from an accredited college/program.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
