Responsibilities / Duties:
- Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Knowledge in and ability to perform DOT Inspections.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on all company equipment, including rented and leased equipment.
- Maintain and repair heavy equipment, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery and systems.
- Read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, transfer plates, final drives, and trac motors.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace pneumatic equipment such as diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, power packs, and huck guns.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
- Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
- Maintain documentation of work performed (work orders) accurately and timely.
- Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Travel to customer sites for repair and maintenance when required, maintaining a clean and professional service vehicle.
- Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably.
- Follow basic safety practices.
Experience and Skills Needed:
- Knowledge of construction equipment maintenance, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, emissions, diesel, gasoline, and record-keeping systems.
- Own a set of tools.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
- Achieve project goals and timelines.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of logistics, warehousing, equipment, and inventory management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Interest in renewable energy demonstrated through work experience.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and a team player.
