Job Description
As a mechanic, you will ensure the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on production machines. This involves following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, as well as troubleshooting malfunctions. You will be responsible for dismantling, moving, assembling, installing, welding, performing torch work, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment based on layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
Responsibilities
- Dismantle equipment and machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
- Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors using hand and power tools.
- Construct foundations and align machines.
- Perform scheduled inspection and maintenance.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools.
- Control downtime through effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.
- Set up and operate machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts.
- Travel to other locations may be required.
- Perform other work as assigned at management’s direction.
Essential Skills
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Mechanical maintenance.
- Understanding of blueprints and schematics.
- Machine operating or fabricating.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, repair techniques, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Experience with preventive maintenance.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to work with welding and three-phase motors.
- Experience in mechanical and electrical assembly.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
